see url Welcome back to the Weekly Round Up!  I hope you had a good week.  Things are finally starting to get back to normal here at Earth|Unfiltered, after my shitty month of no internet, but unfortunately it’s anything but business as usual in the rest of the world- or at least anytime Trump and his government comes near any environmental issues.  This week we had lots of talk about the Paris Agreement, turkey vomit, and giant Australian turekys.  So without further ado, let’s dive in! Welcome back to the Weekly Round Up!  If this is your first time here, it’s nice to meet you!  Grab a seat, get comfortable, settle in- cause it’s been an interesting week.  We’ve got some shitty stuff- like more microplastics in our oceans than imaginable and an end to the on ground protests against the DAPL- but also some really great stuff- like California moving to save the environment from Trump and some bee research that is seriously cool.  Honestly, the bee research is real fascinating.  So without further ado, let’s dive in! The COP Process

I hope you guys are ready for me to talk about COP13 again.  I also hope you guys are ready for me to get really specific about things.  Like… this is going to be informational as shit.  Ya’ll are gonna learn some stuff today.  There’s a ton of acronyms, and documents, and papers, and non papers, and meetings, and groups that take place at these meetings.  So I’m going to break it all down for you, make it nice and understandable.  So if you’re going to tap out now, fine go for it.  But honestly, learning how international meetings go, and how policies and whatnot are created, is kinda a nice thing to know. Brace yourself because the United Nations just called out the Paris Agreement and all of its contributing countries in a new report that claims the agreement won’t do enough to offset climate change! Like that passive aggressive roommate we all have to live with at least once in our lives, the UN points out that the Paris Agreement is moving the ball forward in the right direction, but it’s moving slower than Donald Trump on the uptake (I’m paraphrasing here)!  Continue reading

It’s Saturday, so you know what time of the week it is again!  It’s time to sit back, relax, grab a cup of Joe, or tea, or what have you- I don’t know what you people are all drinking these days- and catch up on the environmental stories of the week.  We’ve got bonobo research, Bill Nye vs Creationism, and farming ants, to mention a few.  So let’s dive in! Continue reading

The Weekly Round Up: May 22-28

Well, the Raptors lost yesterday.  So, while you’re lament the end of an incredible season, why not catch up on all of this week’s environmental news?  I promise it’s more uplifting than last week… but then again just about everything is more uplifting than last week.  We’re talking coral reefs, new snakes, and green energy.  Let’s dive in! Continue reading

The Weekly Round Up: May 15-21

Well guys, I’m going to be upfront and truthful with you, this week wasn’t too great.  There was quite a bit of doom and gloom going around, and not just because DOOM has been out for a little more than a week (which is apparently quite good, so… silver lining?).  Seriously, there was some pretty big, bad news this week.  Fortunately, there was also some good stuff- key word being some– so let’s hold hands, and get through this together. Continue reading
